Strange back problem. Don't know what to do?

I Appreciate YOU

Hi. I’m (only) eighteen years of age and I seem to have developed a back problem.

The many different sensations are mostly located in the lower-right side of my back. It has now moved into the right side of my hip and a little bit in my stomach. I can do pretty much anything I want physically (including lifting things) and nothing seems to irritate it. Well, actually the only thing that ever seems to cause it pain is when I get in a low-to-the-ground car with low seats (must be the way I bend). It pinches a bit when I do that. Also, there is some tightness (after I stretch my entire right side) but no restriction of movement, just pain and other sensations.

I’ve been experiencing this for well over six months. The pain is pretty erratic and has it’s good days and bad days. Two days ago it was the most painful it had ever been, and the next day it seemed like it was gone (I think this is due to an awkward stretch I did in an attempt to decompress the spine, I laid down on my left side and let my legs hang off the side of the bed, which pulled my upper body a bit and relieved some pain and stretched it wonderfully, it helps a lot, but it’s definitely still there, just feels weird ), however now it’s coming back.

Sometimes it pinches, sometimes it aches, and more recently it.. kinda feels like my muscles are burning. Oh, I weigh 85 lbs (very light I know, I do eat a lot). So it couldn’t be because of weight. I’m not exactly athletic, but I walk all the time and I don’t look or feel in bad shape. My posture isn’t bad either. I’ve had a pillow behind my back for lumbar support for several months, so you’d think it’d improve by now.

I’d go to a chiropractor, but I don’t have the money to afford one + no insurance + broke parents. In time we’ll be able to collect enough but that might be awhile. Any ideas on what this might be?

(sorry for the long post and lack of structure, writing this on no sleep)

What is the best pillow for back pain?

I had a one level lumbar fusion (L4/L5) on July 2. I just got home from the hospital and am really missing the hospital beds. Between the ability to recline and having support, and the bed being softer, I am a lot more sore at home in my own bed.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a pillow, and were I can find it, that helps me recline, and supports me between the gap of the bed and headboard. Probably a tall wedge?
I would really appreciate some help, since 75% of my next two weeks is in bed…Thanks.

L4-L5 herniated disc– MRI Report, possible treatment options?

I have been having leg, groin, hip & lower back pain for 6 months now. I had an MRI on Tuesday and these are the results. I am in significant pain all day, every day. I did a 12 day course of prednisone, which ended up giving me oral thrush. I take Naproxen daily as well as Vicodin for the pain (which only makes it semi-tolorable.) If anyone has been in the same situation, what would my next step be from here? I am scheduled to start physical therapy next week and my mom suggested I get a referral for an appointment with a Neurosurgeon to get an epidural. Also, I would greatly appreciate some suggestions on how to deal with the lower back/ hip pain at work. I already have a pillow in my chair for support as well as a chair to prop my leg on.

Thank you!

Findings:

There are five lumbar vertebral segments. The proximal three lumbar and distal three thoracic discs and vertebral segments are normal in appearance. Mild degenerative changes of the L4-L5 and L5-S1 discs are noted with circumferential diffuse bulges of the annuli with small superimposed central non-extruded disc herniations. There is no disc space narrowing and no root sleeve effacement or central or foraminal stenosis at the L4-L5 or L5-S1 levels and no degenerative facet changes, spondylolisthesis is noted. No intradural, retroperitoneal, or paraspinal soft tissue abnormalities of significance is noted.

Impression:

Mild degenerative changes of the L4-L5 and L5-S1 discs with small superimposed central on-extruded disc herniations are noted without root sleeve effacement of spinal stenosis. The remainder of the examination is normal in appearance.

07 Civic LX vs 07 Sentra SL?

I’m looking to buy one of these cars, have researched a lot, and am still very confused. Civic handles better, and has better interior quality, but is noisy on highways and doesn’t have a remote trunk open. Sentra has more room, lots of cool features, but has average handling, cheap looking/feeling interior, less lumbar support, and body lean due to tall style.

Can someone experienced with these vehicles tell which is a better buy?

What Should I do to make my lower back and butt comfortable on my sit-on-top Kayak.?

I’m a kayak fisherman with an sit-on-top Emotion fisherman kayak. I have a cheap seat and I have tried a 0.00 seat before which I took back. While I fish my lower back gets sore I’m sure a more expensive seat will make my butt comfortable but my back needs support, maybe its the way I sit but I usually shove something behind my lower back to act like a lumbar in a car seat for relief. I’m 6′0 tall 215 lbs thick athletic build. All the seats I look at don’t seem to have any kind of lower back support. I usually quit fishing because my back gets so tired so any kind of advice would help. Thanks for your answers.

I’m looking for a sturdy, high quality lumbar support to that I can add to a desk chair. I don’t want something cheap and flimsy which it seems like most of them are.

2007 VW GTI, are they more reliable cars now?

I have 2001 GTI VR6. I have had ten recalls and TONS of problems with this car..several of them were expensive to fix. I am told, however, that since 2004, VW has been working very hard on the reliability of their cars, even the GTI. Is this true? Are they more reliable now? The new GTI is a 4 cyl turbo (no more VR6s in the US.) I test drove it today. Man, SWEET ride. Comfy bucket seats w/ lumbar support, smooth turbo, very little road noise. It rides like a dream…and it has some guts, baby. I just dont want another GTI that’s gonna give me alotta problems. Anybody know anything more specific, please let me know.
